The organising committee invites you to attend ANZCA ASM 2008 "Anaesthesia: Science, Art and Life" to be held May 3-7, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Sydney.
A strong scientific program is in its final stages of planning. Our keynote and local invited speakers have wide ranging expertise including clinical pharmacology, obstetric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and pain management, medicolegal issues and critical thinking. An important common area of expertise is their prominent editorial work in major anaesthetic journals and their resources in this area will be highlighted in the scientific program. The program will also include a rich variety of session formats including interactive workshops, problem-based learning, breakfast sessions, free papers and poster presentations.
The theme, "Anaesthesia: Science, Art and Life" emphasises not only the scientific, evidence-based aspects of anaesthetic practice, but also the importance of "artistic" influences in true mastery of the specialty, and the vital role that a healthy and fulfilling life plays in being successful in one's professional work. For anaesthetists to perform their clinical duties competently and compassionately, adequate attention needs to be given to all aspects of work and lifestyle. In addition to a strong scientific program, this meeting will include references to artistic aspects of anaesthesia and medicine, and to lifestyle aspects that impact on work, that will help anaesthetists to balance their professional and personal lives in a rewarding and productive manner.
Complimenting this theme is a fabulous social program.
We look forward to seeing you there in 2008
